Thereafter, you will visit another amazing heritage site “Amabere caves” named after Amabere ga Nyinamwiru which means “Breasts” of Nyinamwiru. These are breast like features in caves which are believed to have belonged to Nyinamwiru the daughter of King Bukuku. Nyinamwiru was a very beautiful lady that no money could ever leave her alone. When Nyinamwiru’s father became weary of receiving marital requests from unsuitable suitors, he took extreme measures by having her breasts cut off to make her less attractive to men. This plan failed and King Bukuku of Tooro hid her in the cave where she was discovered by Batembuzi King Isaza who impregnated her with a son. Since Nyinamwiru had no breasts, she stayed in the caves and feed the baby on cloudy limestone milk that dripped from its stalactites.
