Just wake up early in the morning as 4:30 am, and grab your breakfast at the Hotel in Kigali as you prepare yourself for 119 km drive to Volcanoes National Park. As reaching the Park headquarters, you will catch same briefing about Gorillas trekking rules and then proceed
tracking the gorilla family you’ve been assigned to. From this trek, you will get the opportunity to meet and observe mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, encounters with gorillas as they go about their daily life. Hikes up to the various locations will last anything from 30 minutes to four or more hours, reaching an altitude of between 2,500m and 4,000m. Porters are available to carry backpacks and cameras, as well as offering a helping hand along the route. After the trek, you will drive back to the hotel in Kigali and get ready for the next day at Nyungwe National Park.
On this day, you will have breakfast early in the morning and get ready for the drive to Nyungwe National Park. The drive guide will be explaining to you everything you’ll be wondering all along the way, the park covers 1,019 kilometers square including Cyamudongo as a fragmented forest which is known to be the home of chimpanzees.
On this day, you will be able to climb for canopy walk, which is the part of the igishigishigi trail as the high suspension bridge of 70 meter height and 160 meter long with views over valley and forest, and also go for Gisakura tea plantation.
This will be a wonderful morning in the forest, wake up and have your breakfast as you prepare yourself to embark on chimpanzee trekking. This will be a good moment for you to view the daily activities of chimpanzee like when they wake up, how they sleep, what is the first activity after waking up etc. You will be able to identify who lead the group, and as with curiosity you will have a chance to view more that the eye can see on this day. After the trek, you will have to come back to the starting point and drive back to the Hotel or airport in Kigali.
